The town is named after Birnam Wood from Mcbeth by Shakespeare. When the rail system first
rolled through the foreman was asked to name the station. Being a Shakespeare fan, he
chose Birnam Wood.
Since then Birnamwood has become a small and growing town with good people and varity
of things to enjoy. Its size reminds one of the days of ole, without Big Box stores,
traffic lights or fences and no crowded stores, resturants or streets.
So get away for a day and enjoy Birnamwood!
