Grounds Committee

The Grounds Committee is responsible for the beautification and maintenance of all common grounds within Birnamwood properties. Birnamwood grounds includes: all trees, shrubs, bushes, plantings, flowers, grass and groundcover. It also manages contracts and services responsible for snow removal, tree maintenance and removal, and sprinkler systems.

Landscaping and maintenance of grounds areas immediately outside homeowner units and generally defined by sidewalks—including plants in the ground, rocks, stones, ornaments, and any other item outside the unit that comes in contact with the ground—is an optional maintenance responsibility of the homeowner within BHA Rules and Regulations and landscaping guidelines. If the homeowner chooses to make changes to this area and agrees to maintain it, a Landscaping Modification Request form must be completed and approved before any changes may begin. If homeowners choose not to maintain the area immediately in front of their unit, the bare minimum of rocks and/or plantings will be maintained by the Grounds Committee.

The Grounds Committee also collaborates with the Facilities Committee to coordinate spring and fall “Birnamwood Clean-Up Days.”
