Pool and Pavilion Amenities
The Birnamwood community pool and pavilion are the heart of our neighborhood, offering residents a place to relax, gather, and enjoy quality time with family and friends. These amenities are carefully maintained to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all members of our community.
The Pool
Our sparkling pool is the perfect spot to beat the heat, whether you’re looking to swim laps, splash with the kids, or unwind by the water.
Key features include:
- Seasonal Operation: Open from Memorial Day to early September for your enjoyment.
- Wading Pool: Separate shallow pool to help adults supervise toddlers in a safe environment.
- Family-Friendly Design: Shallow areas for younger swimmers and plenty of space for adults to swim, float, and relax.
- Comfortable Seating: Lounge chairs and umbrella-covered tables and chairs for maximum comfort.
- Ping-pong: Table, paddles, and balls are available during normal pool operating hours. Paddles and balls are stored in the bottom utility drawer at the pavilion.
- Secure Access: Entry is reserved for residents and their guests with an HOA-provided key.
Pool rules and hours are posted on-site to ensure a safe and pleasant experience for everyone, and to conform with state requirements. They include:
- An owner must be present at the pool at all times when someone from their unit is in the pool area.
- No lifeguards are on duty. Swim at your own risk. Never swim alone. All swimmers agree to absolve BHA of any claims for negligence and/or damage in the event of accidental death or injury. Those without swimming skills should not be in deep water even with arm floats, noodles, or inflatable rings, as these are not regulation life preservers.
- Pool hours are posted at the gates. After-hours use is not permitted unless by special arrangement with written permission in advance.
- Minnesota state pool regulations require designated and approved swim attire when in the pool. Children who are not potty-trained must wear pool swim diapers to be allowed in the pool.
- Incontinent pool users must wear waterproof pants.
- NO SMOKING in the pool area, Pavilion, sport court, tot lot, or immediately outside the pool gates.
- Shower before entering the pool. An outdoor shower area is provided on the side of the Pavilion.
- Do not apply sunscreen in or near the pool, and wait at least 15 minutes after applying sunscreen before entering the pool to allow sunscreen to soak into the skin (sunscreen oils float on top of water, clog filters, and cause pool maintenance and equipment problems).
- The following are not permitted in the pool or on the pool deck: diving, running, spitting, chewing gum, hard toys or balls, music devices without headphones, and pets.
- No glass containers are allowed in the pool or on the pool deck. Glass containers must be used only within the pavilion area.
- Bikes, skateboards, in-line skates, scooters, etc. must be left outside the pool gates.
- A key is required to enter or exit the pool. KEEP THE GATE CLOSED—do not prop it open. Do not lend your key to guests, and do not open the gate for others unless it is for your own guests.
WARNING/DISCLAIMER: Residents are responsible for ensuring that all members of their households, and invited guests, follow these rules. Residents are encouraged to report problems or flagrant disregard for rules to BHA Property Manager Amelia Meyer as soon as possible. Failure to follow pool regulations can lead to your pool privileges being revoked.
The Pavilion
NOTE: Pavilion reservations are now closed. Reservation requests for the 2026 season will open April 1, 2026 and be addressed in the order received. No requests received prior to April 1st will be processed.
The pavilion is a versatile space that’s perfect for hosting events, gatherings, or simply enjoying the outdoors during months when the pool is open. It is conveniently located in the northwest corner of the grounds of the pool. It is elevated from the pool deck with open walls on three sides. Features include:
- Covered Seating: Tables and chairs provide ample space for picnics, birthday parties, and community events. (Residents may bring their own chairs and tables to add more seating and table spaces.)
- Kitchen facilities, refrigerator/freezer, ceiling fans and ample counter space available.

General information that applies to all residents and guests using the Pavilion:
- Rules: All pool use rules apply to guests of those reserving the pavilion area.
- Parking: Guests are to park on the ring road. Guests should NOT park on the north side of the pool—this is primarily for residents in adjacent townhomes.
- Decorations: May be taped or stapled up but everything must be removed before you leave. The Pavilion must be cleaned and vacated by 9:30 p.m.
- Charcoal or Electric Grills: MAY NOT be used inside the pool or Pavilion area. Grills are permitted outside the north gate near the play area.
- Pavilion users should leave towels, etc. in the pavilion when swimming. If the pool is crowded, residents have first claim on the lounges, tables and chairs.
- Trash: Needs to be gathered in your own bags, tied, and deposited in the large, gray garbage container. Place empty bottles and cans in the blue recycling container. Groups over 20 are responsible for their own trash disposal.
Community Connection
Both the pool and pavilion serve as gathering spots where neighbors can come together, build relationships, and create lasting memories. These shared spaces help make Birnamwood a welcoming and connected community. We invite all residents to enjoy these wonderful amenities while adhering to posted guidelines to ensure they remain enjoyable for everyone.
Relax and soak in what Birnamwood has to offer!
